A bronze model cannon barrel,Memmingen,dated 1757. Multi-staged barrel with mouldings,pine cone-shaped cascabel,the breech with vent hole on top,stamped coat of arms of the city of Memmingen and date "1757",the middle part with stylised dolphin handles and trunnions on the sides over a punched ground,cannon muzzle. Length 31 cm. Memmingen(Bavaria)has been an important mediaeval city and was declared a free imperial city in 1286 by the German Kaiser Rudolph I of Habsburg.
