Wliile the amount of oats produced in this state is compara-tively small (13,000,000 bushels), their quality is good. Theberries arc plump and contain considerable meat. IMie bettergrades are selected for makine; breakfast foods and the lessmeaty types are generally utilized in various ways as stockfood. Owing to the excellent quality, more oats should be pro-duced.
