Thekkady is a town near Periyar National Park, an important tourist attraction in the Kerala state of India. The name Thekkady is derived from the word "thekku" which means teak. With the backdrop of the dense forest of the Wildlife Preserve, the lake is very scenic. It has wide variety of wild life, Tiger Reserve, Boat Ride.
