Egyptian Water Clock

Egyptian water clock (casting of the alabaster original from the Museum of Cairo), c. 1415-1380 BC. Time could be measured with this device, as the water level fell steadily and hours were indicated by points inside the container, with twelve sections to account for months. From the Science Museum, London.
