A Spanish Charles III Indian peace medal reputedly belonged to the last lieutenant governor of Upper Louisiana, Charles (Don Carlos) Dehault Delassus. Indian medals issued by the Spanish government measured 54 millimeters diameter and were made of silver. However, this one is gold-plated indicating that it may have served another purpose as well.
