La Alcazaba is located on a hill overlooking the town and bay of Almeria. It forms an impressive medieval defensive complex. The structure is the result of historical evolution and it has been altered many times over the years. The complex includes a grand fortress, a Palace complex, a Christian Castle as well as gardens and walkways.
