Crinoid and sea fan. Both the crinoid (Oxycomanthus sp.) and sea fan (Melithaea sp.) are filter feeders. The crinoid (circular, centre left) is able to move in search of the best feeding areas. The sea fan (red, centre left and right) is fixed and grows in areas of high currents. As these areas are rich in sources of food, it is not uncommon to find crinoids clinging onto sea fans.
