The owl from further away. Wiltshire, UK: IMAGES CAPTURED the moment a barn owl snatches its prey and flies with a live mouse through the sky to feed its young. Incredible images captured a barn owl spreading its wings and flying with a mouse trying to escape, while the photographer watched from less than 50-feet below. Engineering machine shop team leader Neil Brailsford (54) from Newbury, Berkshire, UK captured images of a barn owl capturing a live mouse and flying away with their next meal. Neil captured these images in Salisbury plain, Wiltshire, UK using a Canon R7 with Canon EF500mm f4 mk2 and extender. Although the light was fading while Neil was taking these shots, he was able to still capture incredible images of a barn owl on the hunt for its prey. These images capture the reality of how effective owls are at capturing their prey, even in dimmer lighting. ?It was a great feeling as the light was fading and I didn't think I would see one hunting before it went dark,? he said. ?I love the fact that no matter what, these barn owls are so effective at hunting, providing food for their young family or mate. ?I was watching this barn owl hunting in the fields when suddenly it hovered, then dove into the long grass, moments later he took off and flew towards me with this huge vole in its talons. ?The owl headed back to the barn where it disappeared into the building for its mate or young to eat the ENDS mediadrumimages/Neil Brailsford
