The Aromatic seech most used are the Cardamom—Cardamo- mum,—fruit of the AJinnea carclamomum, a native of Malabar. Fennel seed—Fceniadum^—fruit of the Anethum fceniculum, a native of Europe. Anise—Anhum.^—fruit of the Anisum pimpinella. Coriander—Coriandrum^—fruit of the Coriandrum sativum. Caraway—Cariwi^—fruit of the Carum carui.—These all contain a volatile oil, and are used chiefly for imparting an agreeable flavour to other substances.
