Carshalton, Surrey, UK. 9th November 2014. Crocheted poppies at the War Memorial beside the ponds in Carshalton. Council leader Ruth Dombey and Sutton mayor Councillor Arthur Hookway laid wreaths beside those of local cadet groups and the Royal British Legion. Hundreds of people attended the Remembrance Sunday service where the bronze name panels were sadly stolen from the First World War memorial during a speight of thefts in 2011 and replaced with carved stone panels. Newly unveiled this month is a stone memorial to the fallen of WW2.
