The Korean Peninsula showing North and south Korea is seen on the evening of January 30, 2014. The bright lights show that South Korea, particularly Seoul (the bright spot near the center) is economically superior to North Korea where there is little electricity. In fact, it is difficult to determine the outline of North Korea due to the lack of lighting. The photograph was captured from the International Space Yellow Sea is in the south and the Sea of Japan is in the north. (NASA/ISS/Handout)
