Ruins of the library at Nysa ancient site in Aydin province of Turkey. Built around AD 130, this multi-functional building served as a library, auditorium and courthouse. Nysa on the Meander belonged to Caria but under the Roman Empire it was within the province of Asia which had Ephesus for its capital.
