Microstereolithography. Close-up of a sample being prepared using the technique of microstereolithography. Stereolithography is a manufacturing technology that uses lasers and resins to build 3D objects layer by layer. It is also known as 3D printing. What is seen here is the same technique, but applied at microscopic scales. Photographed at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland.
