Vertexwith yellow, anteriorly with black hairs, frons black-haired; epistomawith yellow hairs at the sides. The Iower part of epistoma with thecentral knob rather protruding and the lateral mouth edges somewhatdescending. Occiput grey pruinose, with yellow hairs, above besidesa row of longer, black hairs, overhanging the eyes. Eyes densely andlongish hairy with black hairs, paler on the Iower part. Antennæ. Fig. 111. Thorax dullæneous, with three narrow, darker stripes, the median abbreviatedabout the middle, and sometimes indistinct. Scutellum yellow, only alittle dark at the basal corners. Thorax clothed with erect, reddishyellow hairs, longest behind and on scutellum. Pleura bluish æneouswith pale hairs. Abdomen not long, ovate, broader than thorax; thesmall first segment grey, the second yellow or whitish yellow with abroader or narrower, black middle line, often abbreviated behind;sometimes the line is much expanded so that the segment has onlyyellowish side spots, and then the line is often greyish; third segmentbluish black, mostly dull; it is either quite black or just the basalmargin yellow, or this colour widens to a pair of small
