Cryovolcano on Titan. Combined infrared (terrain) and radar (topography) image of the possible Sotra Facula cryovolcano (ice volcano) on the surface of Titan, the largest moon of Saturn. Colours indicate dunes (brown-blue), exposed ice (blue-white), and volcanic flows (yellow-green). The volcanic peaks are around 1000 metres tall. The surface of Titan (minus 180 degrees Celsius) is an icy crust, with volcanoes such as this erupting either hydrocarbons or water mixed with ammonia. Image data from the Visual and Infrared Mapping Spectrometer (VIMS) and Radar Mapper on the Cassini spacecraft that is in orbit around Saturn.
