Assistant head warden Phil Dyke surveys the National Trust's latest acquisition ..... the most southerly point of Britain .... Lizard Point , Cornwall. The 76 acre site of spectacular coastline and farmland running up to Lizard village includes Bumble Rock and the Lions Den , a massive 100ft deep blow hole . The point has long attracted botanists since extraordinary finds such as the Wild Prostrate Asparagus was discovered ther in 1667.
