Highland railway Strathpeffer tank 0-4-4T 15053 in shed in LMS days with Small Ben Ben Attow behind date pre-1949


Four engines of this class were built by Peter Drummond between 1905 and 1906 and were known as Strathpeffer tanks. Two were withdrawn in the 1930s but the other two became identified with the Dornoch branch and survived until one of them broke a crank axle in 1956 They were the last Highland railway locomotives in service
