Oliver The Baltimore and Ohio Chicago Ter-minal Railroad at present is dispatching50 engines every day in switching service,manned by the same number of engine andtrain crews. An avcr;iKL of nine transfercrews are handling our mail work, makinga round trip daily. We arc np^iMting over85 miles of double track and 16 miles ofsingle track. We also handle 53 passengertrains daily for the Pcre Marquette,Chicago Great Western, Soo Line andBaltimore and Ohio proper, not mentioningthe freight trains. Our train dispatchersare handling this large volume of businessover an improved telephone system, in-stalled about one year ago. There are400 to 450 train movements registeredevery twenty-four hours. The largestvolume of business ever handled in onemonth was in October just past, when54,270 cars were interchanged with con-necting lines, 33,653 being loads.
