Füssen is a Town in Ostallgaü, Bavaria, Germany. It is the highest town in Bavaria and is situated 5 miles north of the Austrian border on the banks of the Lech river which flows into the Forggensee lake. The Town dates back to Roman Times. It is home to the Hohes Schloss (High Castle), the former summer house of The Prince Bishops of Augsburg and the Benedictine Monastery of St Magnus. The Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein castles are situated nearby.
