Fordyce Castle Grampian located in the centre of Fordyce Village is often overlooked by visitors to Scotland
Fordyce is a magical place, a maze of narrow streets still following a medieval plan, and all wrapped around its magnificent centrepiece, Fordyce Castle is situated in an ‘award winning conservation village’ in rolling countryside one mile from the coast. An ‘A’ listed 16 Tower House, is an architectural and historical gem. But the main attraction is without any doubt the village itself. Narrow streets, lovely houses and cottages complete with gardens overflowing with roses. If you want to pass some time in a quiet and very beautiful village, then Fordyce really is worth a look. The area had been active in the past with substantial industry such as a lint mill, a tile works and a distillery providing work for local people. The distillery was eventually removed stone by stone to form the present Inchgower Distillery
