Dusk overtakes the Chicago River canyon in downtown Chicago. At left center, is the corn cob-shaped towers of Marina City, a mixed-use residential/commercial building complex completed in Chicago in 1968. Its unique style, shape and location have made it a notable Chicago landmark. At right center, providing a contrasting architectural style and eras coexist along the south bank of the Chicago River. One of Chicago''s original skyscrapers in a city known for the birthplace of skyscrapers, 75 E. Wacker Drive Building (formerly the Mather Tower and Lincoln Tower), built in 1928. The Neo-Gothic, terra-cotta-clad building is designated as a Chicago Historic Landmark. Partially obscuring the landmark tower, to its right and providing a further stark contrast by color, style and era is the Wyndam Hotel. In the foreground are the Wells and Franklin Street bridges.
