The Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, designed principally by Sir Christopher Wren and build between 1696 and 1712. Originally conceived as The Royal Hospital for Seamen and popularly known as Greenwich Hospital until 1869 when it closed. Four years later it reopened as The Royal Naval College which in turn closed in 1998. The college is now a major tourist attraction (together with the Cutty Sark and Royal Greenwich Observatory.
