Cattle Egret, Bubulcus ibis
Highly successful at colonization, having spread from the Old World to the Americas and Australia within the last century. Pure white for most of the year, at breeding time the head and neck are covered in soft buff plumes. In addition to colonies near water, cattle egrets are often found near cattle, catching insects that are disturbed by the animals and picking flies off them.
