View W of Mané Rethual Neolithic passage grave, Locmariaquer, Carnac, Brittany, France, showing the entrance passage & massive granite capstone still partly imbedded in its long mound aligned NNW-SSE. The long, low narrow passage leads to an antechamber & semi-circular chamber. The underside of the capstone bears a huge 'figurine' carving suggesting it once formed part of a freestanding statue menhir. Other stones inside the tomb are carved with hafted axes & shepherds' crooks.
