Stone Sculpture by sculptor Walter Schmarje 1909-1912. Boy with Goose at beginning of the Putlitz Bridge, An der Putlitzbrücke, Moabit, Mitte, Berlin On both sides of the ramps leading up to the Putlitz Bridge, shell limestone sculptures are mounted on rectangular, white-painted concrete bases This bridge is named a Brandenburg noble family, whose ancestral home is in the town of Putlitz. Their coat of arms was a crowned goose and the boy (putto) with the goose at the beginning of the bridge is supposed to refer to this coat of arms. The goose, was the heraldic animal of the "Gans Edle zu Putlitz" family.
