Bluebell wood. Flowering bluebells (Hyacinthoides non-scripta) growing in a beech (Fagus sylvatica) wood. Bluebells are a fragrant member of the lily family, and are common to undisturbed open woodland, scrubland and hedges. Their bell-shaped flowers are azure blue or occasionally white and are often seen in the spring carpeting a forest floor, as seen here.
