An Ottoman gold-inlaid kilij,circa 1800 Single-edged wootz-Damascus(?)blade(earlier),with a wider double-edged point. Rich gold inlay on one side along the back of the blade and on both sides of the forte,displaying(somewhat rubbed in places)decorative inscriptions,floral cartouches,and a tugra for Selim III(1789 - 1807). Silver grip and cross-piece bearing floral engraving,and a hole for a hand cord in the pommel showing martial trophies engraved on both sides. The edge of the blade somewhat notched.
