It was a rare treatto hear this quaint character relate these with many others of his-adventures. A kind Providence has not blessed our little town with anycelebrated mineral spring to make us a great summer resort; butup Elk Creek, from our earliest settlement, there has been a saltspring from which a fine quality of salt has been obtained, and inthe Gazette of April, 1832, reference is made thereto, and also hyW.
