Discontinue sowing from June to Au- gust, after which, by sow- ing an extra early sort, a good crop can generally be secured. As Peas suffer considerably from drought during the hot summer months. It will be found of great benefit to sow in a trench six inches in depth, covering the Peas to a depth of two inches. As soon as sufficient growth has been made, draw the earth about the vines. In this way more moisture is kept about the roots thar if sown on the level. The wrinkled varieties are no' so hardy as the smooth sorts, and should be plant- ed later, owing to their liability to rot in the ground. One pound to 50 feet of drill.
