Thethorax is short, and the flrst posterior cell is closed, or butslightly opened, and the legs are short. The abdomen is ovalor c^lindrical, and the first segment is much shortened. Thelarvae are oval, with the segments nuich constricted ; they haveno head ; the last segment bears tAvo si)iracies. T. (Senomet-opia) miUtaris Walsh lays its eggs, from one to six in num-ber, on the Army worm (Leucania unipuncta), fastening 408 them by an insoluble cement on the upper surface of the twoor three first rings of the body.
