A Persian set of armour, 19th century. Matching set consisting of a helmet, shield, and arm guard. Each forged of iron with decorative etched and gold-inlaid battle scenes. The helmet has a quadrangular spike which unscrews, an adjustable nasal, plume sockets, and hanging mail curtains of bent iron rings. The skull has a few small holes from etching. Height ca. 60 cm. Round, cambered shield with four umbos, a reinforced brass rim, and a gold-inlaid inscription cartouche in the centre. Diameter 47 cm. The arm guard worked en suite lacks the wrist guard. Length 3,
