In such plants a closed water heater issubstituted for the ejector heater and safety device with thereverse acting diaphragm valve. The water passes through the tubes at a high velocity,insuring a high efficiency of the heating surface. The steamor hot water heating medium is on the outside of the tubes. The regulation could be effected by means of an automaticdiaphragm valve on the steam supply operated by the dewpoint thermostat, but this method is somewhat sluggish andnot so accurate as is the mixing of the heated water withsome of the water which is bypassed around the water heaterso the proper temperature is procured. 60 Carri
