Third voyage of James Cook


Front page of a French translation of the Third Voyage of British explorer James Cook (1728-1779). Cook's third voyage took place from 1776 to 1780, and had the aim of finding the North-West Passage through the Canadian Arctic. Cook, after turning back from the Arctic, was killed in Hawaii on 14 February 1779. Published in Paris by Hotel de Thou, rue des Poitevins, 1785.
