Art student and trainee teacher Elizabeth Edwards has come up with her own novel way of recycling supermarket carrier bags. Elizabeth cuts the bags into strips before knitting them together to create a reusable bag. In 2007 around 17million plastic carrier bags were given away for free from supermarkets.
