This full size replica of Cody's British Army Aeroplane No 1A (Cody Flyer) was constructed as a Farnborough Air Sciences Trust (FAST) project. Samuel Franklin Cody was an American wild west showman who became a pioneer of manned flight using man lifting kites, airships & the first UK flight of a piloted powered heavier than air machine. He worked extensively in the Army Balloon Factory, Farnborough, UK now the home town of the International Farnborough Airshow.
