Artist/engraver/cartographer: Homann/ Homann heirs. Johann Baptist Homann (20 March 1664 – 1 July 1724). Provenance: Published by the firm of Homann Erban in Nuremburg, Type: Copper engraved map. The hand colour to the islands is original from the time of publication. The hand colouring to the title cartouche and vignette view may have been applied later. This map shows the major Baltic Danish islands including Fionia (Funen/Fyn), Zeelandia (Zealand/Sjælland), Femeren (Fehmarn), Langelandia (Langeland), Aeroe (Ærø/Aero), Alsen (Als), Lalandia (Lolland), Falstria (Falster), Mona (Møn). The vignette view in the bottom right hand corner shows ships sailing down the Øresund/Oresund strait between Denmark and Sweden, with the towns of Cronenburg, Helsingborg, Helsingor, Malmo & Copenhagen shown on either side.
