Archway in an old Almshouse on the corner of St Johns Street and the High Street in Malmesbury
This is one of 3 almshouses, dating from 1694 which were built on the site of the late-12th-century hospital of St. John the Baptist. The 12th-century archway was part of the old hospital, but was incorporated into the almshouses some 350 years later when they were built.
