Abdim's stork (Ciconia abdimii) perching on a tree branch. Storks are large wading birds with long legs, a long neck and a long tapering bill. They are entirely carnivorous. This stork is found in Africa and parts of Arabia. It migrates to form large breeding colonies of thousands of birds. It is known to feed on insects and their larvae. Photographed in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park of Botswana and South Africa.
