The Market. Last week the market cleared up well. Peonies are arriving in good quantity and the local red variety has made its appearance. Some excellent out-of-town peonies are coming in and are moving nicely. There is not a wide variety of flowers on the market; most of the stock coming in consists of roses, carnations, peonies, calendulas, a few Easter lilies, miniature roses and mig- nonette. The stock has been of excep- tionally good quality, but if the hot weather continues it probably will be less desirable. Carnations are down to more satisfactory prices, and this fact helps to clean them up well every day. Various Notes. Eichards & Blewett have purchased the business and greenhouses formerly operated by George F. Braybon, at Kent, 0. They will do business under the name of the Standing Eock Green- houses. There was an important meeting of the committees for the coming national flower show at the Hollenden hotel, Thursday, May 19. The chairmen of the various committees were given their instructions and any questions which they had to ask were answered. John Young and George Asmus were present at the meeting. Harold S. Lion, of Lion & Co., New York, and Irving Stein were recent vis- itors in Cleveland. T. B. Stroup, of New Philadelphia, C, and Harry Flick- inger, of Barberton, 0., dropped in for a few hours last week. Allan Humason, of the Eaedlein Basket Co., Chic
