The four varieties offered below were selected from hundreds of European introductions of 1899 and 1900, and we believe them to be the cream of recent introductions and valuable additions to our already long list of desirable varieties. Qerman Crown Prince. A variety which is described in European catalogues as a bronze-leaved form of Goliath, but which in our estimation, is much superior to and entirely dis- tinct from that variety in the fact that its petals are not crimped on the edges, but are smooth, heavy and well-rounded. In color it is a dark cherry-red, of a rich and pleasing shade, with dark bronzy foliage, and of robust, but dwarf compact habit, growing about feet high. ^ each. Mrs. Qeorge A. Strohlein. A variety of special merit, with extra large bright amaranth red flowers which are raised well above the foliage in strong, heavy many-flowered trusses. The plant grows about 5 feet high with large bronzy purple foliage. It is entirely distinct from all others, possesses all the qualities of a good bedding variety, and will, no doubt, become one of our standard sorts. $ each. Mrs. W. F.'? Dreer. A desirable addition to the yellow spotted section, the flowers, which are of immense size with very broad, well-rounded petals, are of a rich, pure yellow, with numerous small red spots. The plant is a strong grower, attain- ing a height of 4)4 feet, with massive, bright green foliage. 50 cents each. Wilhelm Bofinger. Large broad massive foliage of a bright green, and rich scarlet flowers, overlaid with glowing orange scarlet, a color that can be seen as far as the eye will carry ; one of the brightest and most attractive colors we have seen. The plant is of strong, but compact habit, growing about 3^ feet high, very free flowering, and a decided acquisition
