The actual Mercury capsule known as Liberty Bell 7 on display at the Kansas Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, Kansas, one of America's leading space museums. The capsule was lost at sea in July 1961, after astronaut Grissom had left it following splashdown, and was recovered 38 years later and restored for display at the museum.
