An English air rifle, circa 1800. Two-stage smooth-bore barrel, octagonal then round after a cut girdle, in 15 mm calibre, on top inscribed "Lover & Bates London". Engraved lock in the form of a flintlock. Half stock with iron furniture engraved en suite, the bottom with an unscrewable iron pressure container. Iron ramrod. The iron parts stained and partly pitted, the relacquered stock reworked and replaced. Length 130 cm.
