Coast Guard Lands Anti-Tank Gun on Shell-Torn Angaur. To the shore of Angaur Island, ripped into a shambles by bombardment from the United States fleet, a jeep tows an anti-tank gun carried ashore in a Coast Guard-manned landing barge. On the beach, tanks move forward in pursuit of the Japs who have fallen back inland. Angaur resistance was quickly smashed by the powerful American thrust into the Palau Islands only 515 miles from the Philippines.
