Wild clematis, known as Traveller's Joy (Clematis vitalba). The other common name is Old Man's Beard which comes from the appearance of the seed heads. The achines each develop long white plumed styles. Note the small size and simplicity of the flowers. Typical climbing, sprawling hedgerow plant. Photographed in the United Kingdom.
