On April 2, 1902, Mr. Thompson married Miss Birtie Hamilton,who was born in Goshen township, Hardin county, September 12, 1886,a daughter of James and Annie Hamilton, and they have three children :Mabel M., James F. and Ray. His grandfather, John Jones, a nativeof New Jersey, came to Ohio in the early history of this state andsettled in Knox county, where he made his home until 1850. when hemoved to Hardin county. Here he spent the closing years of his life,and died at about the age of seventy. The Doctors great-grandmotherJones was before her marriage a Miss Wolf, she being a cousin of GeneralWolf, of historic fame. John Morgan Jones, the Doctors father, wasborn in Knox county.
