A large crowd of people gathered for the Meeting at "July 15 Martyrs Bridgeí, previously known as Bosphorus Bridge. The celebration commemorated the second anniversary of the attempted coup between 15 and 16 July 2016, in which early 250 people died in the coup and approximately 2,200 were wounded. Since then the government launched a crackdown on those reportedly affiliated with coup organizers, which caused the arrest of nearly 50, 000 and a massive dismissals of State employees.
