InMarch 1968 the author observed twoanimals, one on Fanthams Peak Road,the other on Redmans Road withinthe Reserved Forest. No specimenswere collected. Yellow-footed antechinus,Antechinus flavipes This species was encountered onlyin the heath-woodland areas close tothe campsite and in similar habitatnear the Long Gully Road author also recorded this speciesat Moyston West in March Echidna, Tachyglossus by John Wallis. Of the 10 individuals trapped, twowere juvenile males, one was an adultmale, one was a juvenile female andthree were adult females. The sex ofthree animals was not of the adult females was lactating. Traps were usually collected in themorning so it is not known at whattime animals were trapped; however,two animals were trapped during day-light. Diurnal activity is not uncommonwithin the genus Antechinus. Specimen: 5641. Brown antechinus, Antechinus stuartiiA. stuartii was trapped only in thesouthern section of the survey area,along Redmans Road and MitchellRoad, in the Grampians Ranges land- Species Table 3.
