BRIGADIER GENERAL CAMILLO C. C. CARR. UNITED STATES ARMY. Is 55 Brigadier General CAMILLO C. C. CARR. United States Army. Was born Alarch 3, 1842, at Harrisburg, Rock-ingham County, Va. His career in the Army beganwhen he enlisted in the First United States Cavalr}^,August 15, 1862, being then twenty years old. Herapidly passed through the grades of Corporal, Ser-geant, First Sergeant, and Regimental SergeantMajor, and was given his commission as a SecondLieutenant in the First United States Cavalry, Octo-ber 31, 1863. He got another step in 1864, and re-ceived his Captainc}^ April 8, 1869. Owing to theunfortunate S3\stem of promotion of those days, hedid not get his majority until the 7th of February,1891, when he went to the Eighth Cavalry. Afterseven years in this grade he was promoted to be Lieu-tenant-Colonel of the Fifth Cavalr^^ in 1898, and ar-rived at his present grade January 23, 1900. He has been brevetted three times: first, for gal-lant and meritorious conduct during the
