William Smith, an infantryman assigned to Charlie Troop, 2nd Squadron,101st Cavalry Regiment, practices voice communication using a Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System in Ellicotville, New York on May 22. The exercise was part of a communication evaluation during the squadron's Best Warrior Competition, which tested physical fitness and endurance, military knowledge and bearing, and basic Soldier skills to determine who will represent their unit at brigade and state-level competitions.
