Lo Wai is the first built of the five renowned walled villages in Lung Yeuk Tau Fanling established by the Tang clan whose ancestors branched out from the main Tang settlement in Kam Tin in the 13th century The Tangs since then established eleven villages in the area known as Five Wais Walled villages and Six Tsuens Villages
